Wheel problem

I just purchased a used for of factory Toyota 3 spoke split rims from another owner. He had them on his mid 90's 4 runner with 285/75's on the rims. The rims bolted up to my 05 Tacoma but needed a quarter inch spacer to clear the brake calipers. Problem now is that the wheel will not fit square on the hub because of the spacer. Has anyone else run into this problem? What was the fix?

The newer Tacomas/4runners need more backspaced rims...

Did your Tacoma come with 16" rims? I know the 4runners have 17". Might be a problemw ith clearence.

What do you mean that the wheelspacer made the wheel not fit on square? You have any pictures?
