what kind of suspension is this

i think it is called carriage suspension maybe. its where you that a leaf spring and you bolt it upside down to the frame in the rear and you use that as the mounting point. can some one tell me what kind of style this is and and any other types that are similar. and does anyone know where i can find information about this. i have searched and found nothing. i have an 89 pickup with 84 SAS thanks
