Do you think that is what was causing youre premature U-joint failure? Sounds logical I guess. Anyway, glad you found the possible problem.

 

Yeah the guy said that had to be why my joints were dying so often. I doubt the mud and a non-greasble joint were a good combo anyway. We'll see now. I put a brute force back on it was free.

 

Did Driveline Vista give any information on why the slip yoke was "shot"? Was it slop with the shaft, binding or ???. Hopefully that was the root cause and your problem is finally solved.

 

He said it was pretty beat up. I think that the "ears" of the yoke (for lack of a better term) were bent a little and causing an inherent vibration that would potentially kill u joints.

They reblanced my shaft and it should be good. I'll put it back on tomorrow. I got some new grade 8 bolts too.
