What to do? My rear sway bar won't fit w/ retrofitted e-locker
I just retrofitted a brand new inchworm.com e-locker into my 1990 4Runner (4.56 gears). Everything went well other than when I tried to reconnect the rear sway bar. The motor on the 3rd member gets in the way.
Can I buy a sway bar from a junkyard that will fit?
If so, it will have to be from a truck with the e-locker on it, huh?
I thought it might not even make a difference, but I can feel it leaning big time when I turn corners.
What's my best option? I'm new to all this stuff.
Thanks guys.

Buy one from a 3rd gen 4runner (i think they are the same e-locked and not, but im not 100% sure) Or just go without the sway bar. Most people just take the rears off anyways.

Wow that was fast! Thanks for the response.
I will check out a 3rd gen sway bar. I would like to have it on there because it's my daily driver, and I can always take it off for wheelin.
Thanks again.

+1. You won't really notice a difference with the rear gone. It's the front that I noticed more.......but still didn't make a big difference. Besides, you got the locker for traction, right? What good is traction if you've got a sway bar on there limiting travel (and thereby possibly preventing both wheels from being in contact with the ground) ?

Recommend that you get an E-Locker skid too...

Allright allright... you guys make good points. It is my daily driver and I don't hotrod it around... but I don't like how it leans out so bad when I'm turning long steady corners (like a bend in the highway) at 40mph +. I might find a way to fit one on there and just make some quick disconnects for it.

Nah - you'll get used to it.
I have broken both of mine now. Body roll is a lot more noticeable on the road, but the offroad performance and comfort is worth it. The suspension works SO much better offroad!

yeah, i'm hoping to upgrade to some OME's here pretty soon, now I've gotta figure out why my brand new battery keeps dying... I think my aux fusebox is constantly drawing on my battery and I have to jump it before and after work every day.
