What about the Driveshaft?

Ok, so how much lift is too much lift on the rear driveshaft? How do i get more travel out of the rear? quick discos, longer brake lines, and longer shocks is what im guessing....and what kinda systems are available for the link bars on the rear of a toyota?

Why do you want more travel?

How much lift and travel do you have now?

Can your truck do this?

Or this?

Negative ghostrider.....i want your setup Fly.
I have 3 inches of lift in the back and 1.5" up front plus a 1" body lift.
I know you are running the Fj coils in the back but what about sway bars, shocks, and other ....stuff?

4" is probably max lift just because the shaft angles get horrible.

Those pics are with thrashed stock links, Rancho 5009 shocks and a Downey panhard drop.

I've seen guys go as far as 6" lift and not change the rear shaft. I ran 8" alcans in the rear of my tacoma and got no problems at all. Not sure of how it would have been flexed b/c I had to shorten it when I went to dual cases but even now I have no problems with it.

I don't know about Taco but....I did SAS in the front with OME860 in the rear. I had to get double cardan driveshaft cause single u-joint on each end driveshaft is making grinding noise in my manual trans. By going with pre 86 front d-shaft, the problem was eliminated. You also have to do something about the pan hard bar and maybe gas tank. I end up moving my tank to the rear.

Yes, I do have the 2nd gen Runner.
