trailmaster kit???

How much difference is there in the rear though. Agreed the front is entirely different, but both rears are coiled with panhards, right?
Funny thing, I should just go look, I have a 3rd gen sitting in my garage and I remember what a second looks like. I just wasnt sure whether he was refering to some trailmaster rear lift kit utilizing spacers or the like which may work on 2nd and 3rd gen 4runner suspensions. I guess I should have clarified the "i doubt it."

He's got reasons. As do I.
Yeah, If I had the money I'd love to build up a 'true' offroad rig. But, since i don't, and I just need something to get me around but also get me into Baja for camping and get through thick sand and mud, its perfect for my application!

You can fit a 32X11.5 more easily and it will float well on sand. Ad the 3rd gen E-locker and you are there.

Just so you know, that lift will not help you with any of those goals. Lockers, gears and tires, however, will. You'll need some clearance to fit a 33X12.5" tire but that can be done inexpensively and durably with other options.

Half of the trails are pretty quick roads, you bottom out every 5 seconds. The other will be thick mud, loose moon-dust, thick sand, etc. 35's and having a higher clearance is pretty important, as I have both.
Yeah, I hear you lockers and tires are important.

Dude, I've been traveling into Baja my whole life. I know exactly how and where stock vehicles will get stuck in compared to a lifted application with larger tires.

The clearance for the tires is important, however, the rest is not in the situations you have described. You'll be on your axles long before the body contacts anything.
Sounds to me like you might be a good candidate for a long travel kit. They aren't cheap but work really well in the situations you described.
