Toyota hi-steer using fj60 steering box with RUF?

Hey guys, relatively new to toyotas but not new to buildibg offroad rigs (this is my first toyota, always had fullsize chevy's). Im want to build a very capable DD out of my '86 xcab, thats currently got a SAS with stock '85 push/pull style steering (i bought the truck with SAS already done, i woulda just done x-over at that point).

Any ways, I'm wanting to do hi-steer and use RUF to get a softer ride and better flex. From my research, the stock steering box usually have to be move forward when doing hi-steer and RUF, to prevent tie-rod/draglink interference. Has anybody used an FJ60 steering box in this application? Seems to me using a forward swinging pitman arm would eliminate the need to move the box forward and give better tie-rod/draglink clearance, as well as accomodate for the axle being moved forward via RUF springs.

Anybody tried this or have experience with this? Im sure this isnt a new idea, but my searches didnt return much results on this.

Thanks guys.

It's been done. Mostly by guys using 89-95 RUF, or a link system in the front. Only way to get the front end THAT far forward and still use traditional, non-full hydro steering. I've been doing a little research on it myself since I am making the move towards 3rd gen RUF.
