Solid front axle mod..

Hey,

I'm just wondering if you guys do this, I have an IFS truck, and here guys have been fitting the solid axle from the diesel truck under their IFS trucks.. that axle is 4cm shorter on each side and needs some work to be fitted.. not sure on all the tech info..

But as I said.. just a quick question to see if you do it any other way..

Also do you know of any 7.5" lockers for the IFS ? I just know of one that is made here in Iceland..

this is what I need for the truck.. front locker, low gears, new GPS.
... and some $$$$ haha..

Ohh and a update on the gas price over here.. now $6.3 per gallon over here.. (ISK 113 per liter)

its done quite often, ususally using toyota axles from pre 86 trucks or narrowed d44s....many companys including marlin, and all pro make SAS kits. As far as lockers there are quite a few for the IFS diff; Lock rite, aussie, ARB, Detroit, and i think theres more still...Do some searching and you'll find tons of info on SAS.

Hi Gummy, nice to see you another time here

I've an Aussie Locker. It's cheap and it's very very nice to have, I love mine!

I loveicelandic fender flares, and like you, we cannot have the wheels sticking out more than the flares!

You've got a rear ARB I assume from your sig, ARB makes a 7.5 locker as well I believe. You've already got the compressor...may as well go all the way!

If your front diff is the same as our 7.5 ifs diffs, then yes, ARB makes a front locker. Go take a look at the fab section and you'll find a couple SAS buildups. We're mostly building for rock crawling so the goal is a little different from you guys.

Most people use toyota axles, dana 44s, some dana 60s.

I'll have to see about all this

The price here for a locker is so high.. So I'd only get it if I could carry it home or have someone bring it over here for me, the prices are usually double here...

So for now I guess it's only a dream for now

Can't you import it from Europe or the States?

I have imported a lot of things from the States...

An ARB here in Spain costs near 700€.

Shipping isn't so much... I think it costs the same the shipping from the US to Spain than to Iceland...

And about the taxes, I always try the person that sends me the shopping to declare for less than 300$ and send it via USPS.

At least in Spain, if you receive something declared for less than 300$ and it's shipped via USPS you don't have to pay taxes.

I hate UPS and those agencies, they blood you with taxes and extra charges for doing nothing!
