I got one in my 91, and I tell ya what.... It was the best investment I have made to this rig, hands down! I have been super rough on it, I use my rig as a skidder at my woodlot, and have had 0 problems with the locker. I prolly have about 25k miles on it, most of which is highway.

Do some searching, there are endless threads on the subject here on yt.

What do you want to do with the truck? An LSD unit can leave you with one wheel spinning if its in the air, of course you can brake drag but that can be touchy. personally for your set up I'd look for an e-locker. If your still running stock gears it you'll save on setup mitigating the price difference. I don't know if anything needs to be done to your axle housing as I'm a 1st gen guy. You could look at geting the whole axle if that's a major concern, for us its a bit of grinding, a new hole to drill and tap, and using a longer stud.

I think 12voltguy.com as some trick custom panels with all the wiring and switchs of the elocker. If not get the switch and connecters off donor vehicle.
