Offroad TechDiscussion pertaining to additions or questions which improve off-road ability, recovery and safety, such as suspension, body lifts, lockers etc
Having some issues with my suspension. It's always leaned to the left, which I was told was due to the Old Man Emu shocks being put on the wrong side, (one has a spacer on the driver side or something?) Recently the lean got worse, and I discovered the bushings had broke off the passenger side I'm wondering, though, if I can just get new bushings, bolts, and a washer, and that will fix it, or if the drivers side suspension is blown and that caused the bushings to break off? I'm wondering if I should replace the shocks as well? If so, What size do I order? I can't find a model number on them, and no one I've messaged for parts info is replying.
In addition, I am hoping to ugrade from light to medium on the front, and from medium to heavy on the back. Is that done by adding leaf springs, or is that a different model shock? I'll not upload pics of my leaf springs because these photos are so huge for some reason.
I would ask your question over at iH8mud in the 60-series forum section. OME lift is pretty popular for those FJ60 rigs, and the "lean" is definitely a well-documented thing. I believe the OME leaf springs come with an A and a B-side leaf, one of them is arched a little bit more than the other - either to compensate for driver weight or for fuel tank weight. Good luck
What he said was true. Just one thing to add, the bracket/bolt that you pictured is for your sway bar, there are several companies that make replacements for the bushings. Fixing the sway bar will not fix your leaning issues however.
