Need a lift
Id like to lift my 88 about 4-6 inches but am having trouble finding anything over 4 inches. I use the truck offroad as much as i can but it is also my daily driver. Also i would like to fit 35's or 36's, what am i going to have to do to fit these?
Thanks,
Andy

Alltright here's what you can do as farr as I know.
If you want to just look big, get a Procomp/skyjacker/trailmaster/blackdiamond/etc. style bracket 4" lift and a 3 inch body lift. That will net you seven inches and if you want an inch more crank your torsions. But be aware that the bracket lift does nothing for wheel travel, the body lift merely raises your center of gravity further, and the torsion crank will make your ride pretty stiff.
If you want it to function and be that large. You will have to do a solid axle swap up front and get 6" or greater lift springs.
Either way the 2nd option will be more inviting in either istuation, it costs more but will seriously outperform offroad and will be much softer than the first option on road.
Personally I think 33's are enough lift on a 4runner, therefore a 4" lift is good enough. I'm looking at doing a longtravel IFS setup on mine. Expensive but I think it will be cool and I don't plan to go any larger than 33" tires. Check out www.chaosfab.com

From: 100 miles offshore as much as possible, & Springfield Oregon USA
I did the 4" lift with 3" body lift and run 35s. I ran 37s with no problems. Get rear springs, don't mess with blocks or addaleafs. I have no complaints, but I'm starting to consider SAS. If I had the time and money, I would fab my own coil spring setup. I just might one day...
