Most versatile lift kit

Hello, I currently own a 1991 Toyota 4runner and my neighbor invited me to go off road in with him and I had a blast. So I have been looking looking into lift kits but I know nothing about what I'm looking at so my neighbor said that there are different lift kits for different applications, but the problem is I want a lift kit that will be good at rock crawling, flat desert racing I guess you can say, and I need it to still be able to tow. Now I'm not sure if the lift kit effects my towing capability but my neighbor said that his vehicle is not in a state for towing and that it would be dangerous for him to tow. I'm sorry if this is long, but I am also looking into just raising my truck 3 in maybe 4 at the most.

You need to search, faqs, and look through build threads. The way you're talking about lift kits for offroading I'm assuming your buddy has a jeep.

Next what's your budget?
Rocks, speed, and towing?? You're gonna need to pick one or have very deep pockets. Towing with an off-road capable suspension, I have no idea.

Good searching

Just rambling here but maybe a long travel kit could do it. You wont have as much travel as a prerunner or the flex of a linked solid axle crawler obviously, but it could work for a light duty dual purpose rig without going to an ultra4 build. Get a 2nd tcase and lockers for crawling. For going fast and for towing you might add some beefed sway bars then maybe some sort of air lift to help hold up a trailer. It would likely have to be removable/disconnect so you can swap it when you need travel. Dunno how this would all work out, maybe it's easier to just out this one on a trailer and tow it.

Well I'd like to say thank you. I will keep researching it. I will hopefully come to a conclusion. After reading what you guys have said I will probably just not worry about towing and concentrate my efforts on rock crawling and racing.
