Manual Hub Question

I may have done something really bad. I rebuilt my front axel yesterday and I in the rain and the rush to get home(I was in Raleigh and I had an hour drive home from there) I left without checking my hubs to see if they were open. I got home and checked them this morning for leaks and to my shock I left one locked and one open, I think I remember seeing in the owners manual that doing so is a BIG NO NO. Is it really or am I jsut scared for no reason, what could be the possible negetive effects of doing this if any. Help me out here guys.

Thanks in advance.

Wink

I would not worry about it, the axle was just spinning the Pinion gears (spider gears) and as long as you had it full of lube, it should have not hurt anything.

Thanks Yoda, you've been around a good bit of 4x4's it seems and having your .02 really seals the deal for me, but I'll double check just to be sure, better safe than sorry.
