How's this price?
I just went to my nearest shop for a price on gears and lockers. This is the estimate. $3100.00 for:
front and rear ring and pinion (installed w/ bearings)
Front and rear air lockers (installed)
arb compressor and lines (not installed)
The guy figured 13 hrs shop time @$70.00 per hr =$910.00
Any thoughts?

all prices are full retail from 4 Wheel Parts-
$699.00 each for ARB's- $1400.00
ARB compressor- $295.99
ARB air line kit x 2 -$97.00
Genuine Gear Front and Rear Ring & Pinions, 2 Master Install Kits and Extreme Lifetime Warranty $409.99
Total in Parts- $2202.00
A good installer should take no more than 3 hours per axle. (based on a solid axle front and rear) That's an hour to R&R the third, 2 hours to gut it and re-assemble it. If you drop the thirds, it'll save ya some $$$.
So, I come up with a little less than that- about $400.00 less........
I just helped drop a IFS third a month or so ago, it shouldn't add that much more time for a professional mechanic. I think I could R&R one now in about 2 hours.

Thanks crawler. I thought the labor did seem high but I have no diff knowledge except changing fluids. I may have to go w/ him just because he's the only one w/in 100 mi as far as I can tell. Though Id drive 2-300 if someone recommended a good shop.
