Difference between 4cyl and v-6 TruTracs.

I had a tru trac in my 87 4runner. I purchased it when it was still Detroit.

It was purchased for an 86-95 4runner.

Trying to sell it to another member, but other sites are listing 2 different models, one for v-6, one for 4cyl.

Anyone know if the 4cyl will work in the v-6? All other full carrier replacement traction aids that I've seen work in both the 4cyl and v-6 thirds. You simply need different bearings.

Thanks

I just bought a TT about a month or two ago. I had to have the side bearing replaced to a larger one. Eaton gave me Toyota part number: 90368-50006. My truck is a 4cyl.

The only thing I know thats different about the 4cyl and 6cly diff housing is the pinion gear "shaft" diameter and pinion bearings. I run a v6 diff in my 4cyl. because it uses a larger pinion gear and larger pinion bearings. Thats it that I can think of.

Can't get a hold of anyone at Eaton who has a clue.

However, just found out from the guy interested that he has both a 6cyl and a 4cyl third. So, its a moot point now.
