Dana 30's 200?

Just heard about a deal on a pair of dana 30's with an elocker for $200. will the rear fit under my 4runner right? Are they worth getting? I know the 30 is weaker than the 8" but I really doubt i will take my truck anywhere that will break an axle But i really want/need an elocker. The guy has them set up for an LC

dana 30's are EXTREEMLY weak!!!

spend to 200 on a rear locker.

Theres a reason 2 dana30's with lockers are only 200

Was there even a dana 30 rear?

What is with everyone asking if jeep D30's and zuk axles will fit under the front of yotas lately lol NO NO NO NO NO don't do it! They are just as weak as your IFS or weaker and it would be more work than it was worth anyways.

I'd take ifs over a D30 anyday. I have seen them blow u joints like nothing on things i had no trouble with my ifs..........................

Skip the D30, skip the D44, the only dana that would be an upgrade over a toy 8" would be a D60

That should be a 35 IIRC

But x2 on everyone asking if heep and zuk axles this and that..WTF ?!?
Why do you guys think we rag on jeeps, cause their POS rear C-clip style axles that break with anything larger then 33's.
Not to mention the front 30's u's gernade under the same conditions as the rear 35 c clips.

DONT BUY THOSE AXLES.

Find a damn toyota axle and get with it.

Yeah, lol, They have rockwell axles iirc.
Thoes are some of the most indestructable axles ever..
Mike was just kidding about that though, its his pipe dream..

seriously though, like I said, hold out for a yota axle, I know someone round the corner from me, who has an 85 axle housing for like 125...?
Idk where willits is but im in temecula..

leave the jeep axels for the jeeps to break. just curious if your not going to take your truck anywhere you could break an axel why do you need a locker?

I don't really need an axle I just need to rebuild mine. But mine is a DD so I do need an axle eh? Really though I think I'm just getting ahead of myself. My pepe has alot more important issues than the rear axle. Shes got a saggy butt that the old man (emu) needs to cure.

I really don't know much about which axle is better. My stock 8" is open stock gears stock everything and 230k on it. It has gone through stuff and overstuff and dragged across even more stuff. Lockers and bullhickery cost money for our rears. Getting a locker and gears and bearings and pinion spacers and....someone to set it all up for you (I wouldn't trust my abilities to set up a diff. Seems like an art that needs to be mastered) Would be quite costly. Finding anything round these parts that isnt welded or ARB'd is VERY hard.

But, I do wheel my truck I just didnt know how shoddy these were and was looking for an alternative to the norm.

unimogs had portals

the 2.5ton rockwell is an industrial/military axle.

The volvo 606 IIRC is almost a 5ton axle. I believe the axle shafts are 2.5" diameter!

BTW I love how this thread has evolved from a tooth pick like the d30 to portals and rocks
