Birfield Upgrade Questions

I recently broke a stock birfield on my truck, and am trying to decide which upgraded birfield I should replace it with. After searching for a while, I got confused and though I should ask before ordering parts. Are the 30 spline shafts enough better than stock axle shafts and upgraded 27 spline birfields to make it worthwhile? My stock shafts looked perfectly fine when the birfied exploded, but I wasn't sure if upgrading the birfield would just move the failure to the shafts. Is the Marlin Crawler or Longfield birfield preferred, or are they pretty equivalent?

I also had a few people recommend the Yukon Birfield Eliminator Kit, but searching online I wasn't clear if that was actually better than the 30 spline kits or not.

For reference, my truck is a SASed 88 Xtra Cab pickup with a 22R, dual cases, lockers, and 37s. Is that getting big enough I should just go ahead and upgrade the shafts while I'm at it?

As an update for anybody who sees this thread in the future, I went with RCV 30 spline axles and birfields, because they were pretty universally recommended. I didn't want to put something in only to break it again.
