Question Ball joint spacers.

I know there are tons of threads on ball joint spacers and how to install them on this forum as well as others. What I want to know though is if those of you with them on your stock IFS run anti-sway bars or not. I haven't had the front sway bar on my 4Runner for probably two years or more now, so I was wondering if anyone thinks it is necessary with the 1.5" ball joint spacers (I probably wouldn't back off on the t-bars so I could gain 1.5" ride height). It doesn't seem like I would need to put the sway bar back on since I wouldn't be letting the t-bars down any.
Thanks,
Bryan

there is no reason that you would have to put the sway bars back on.

I have my swaybars off and my torsion bars as loose as I could make them, but still be ok on turns without too much roll. I still enjoy the almost 2 inches I gained over stock.

Cool, just wanted to make sure it didn't make the body roll too much worse. I didn't figure it'd be a problem, I hardly notice I have more body roll than other vehicles now anyway since my sway bars have been disconnected for so long.
Nice looking 4runner by the way.

I got no lift out of the spacers and picked up quite a bit of body roll. My front is pretty darn soft right now.

The wonderful thing about swaybars is you can put them on and take them off easily. If you drive fast and don't like it, then put it on.

Marc,

Did you have to install longer shocks to get that flex? I've got some BJ spacers on the way from R.B. and a set of Rancho 9000s (stock length) on the truck now. if I'm going to need new shocks, I might as well start looking.

to get the full flex you'll need longer shocks, but if you just don't want the extra flex, they stay with the stock shocks. i went with some procomps in the front i took the extended and compressed messurements from my truck and found that the shocks that they put on their 4" lifts were the perfect size, but that all depends on your truck, so the best thing to do is to buy, measure then look.

Did you mean measure, look then buy?

Did you change out the bumpstops to the low profile ones?

hahahahaha oops, yeah, measure look buy. i changed my compression bumpstops to low profile, but with the bj spacers, you're not supposed to use low profiles for the extention bumpstops.

I used the same procomp shocks as Kevywevy. I also put a new steering stabilizer at the same time. I am using my stock bumpstops, and have removed the swaybar.

Flyght may not have seen any lift because he has the TJM bumper and winch that add quite a bit of weight.

Sweet, even got shock information. Now if only I could actually get some decent shifts where I work so that I can afford this stuff.

im guessing he uncranked his torsion bars because he didnt want any lift, he just wanted the added flex.
