4" lift for FJ40

anybody know where I can get lift kits for a 72 FJ40, for some reason I can't find anything on these, any help would be great

There aren't a whole lot of Cruiser guys around here. Check out IH8MUD.com. I'm sure somebody over there can point you in the right direction.


Are there good places to go wheeling in Bozeman? I never had a chance to hit any trails when I went to MSU.

I'm not a cruiser guy, but I think many start with a spring over axle conversion which would give about 4" of lift. But the above referenced forum would be the best place to find out.

Stay away from OME springs...Go with Alcans if you can afford it.
oh and ih8mud is the place for cruisers

From the research I've done, OME springs are good, but very pricey. Skyjacker seems to be the best bang for the buck in terms of ride and wheelability.

As for the spring over... I believe they give closer to 6" of lift... but that is going from memory.

I think once you do some research on MUD, you will find myriad places to go - lifts for '40s are everywhere once you get inside the circle.
