2WD lift
any suggestions? I just got an 87 2WD 22R auto 91K for $500
that leaves a bit of money to put where I want it
fabtech makes a 4" spindle and a 3.5" upper control arm set
anyone have experiance with these? longevity issues?
Thanks

I used to have an '89 2WD with 22R ... really miss it ... I had the Fabtech "IvanDan" lift - It is AWESOME. Desert runner long travel type (story is that it is the same as Ivan Stewart used to prerun Baja - at least that's what Fabtech told me when I bought it). I think someone on here is selling theirs. (Fabtech doesn't make it any more)
Super smooth ride - better than stock. I had 31x10.50, but they rubbed a little.
SUPER beefy. Seriously, you'll think about asking for help moving the lower control arms.
Throw a locking diff in the back, and you'll be able to do just about anything a stock 4WD can do, sometimes more.

A couple options:
Totcal Chaos www.chaosfab.com
Downey www.dwoneyoff-road.com
JD Fabrication www.jdfabrication.com
All depends on how much money you got and what you wanna do with it.

Another option is to checkout www.4crawler.com or www.trdparts4u.com for a ball joint spacer type of lift. What is best depends on how radical you wish to go.

I only looking to increase ride height a little and (if possible) increase performance. this truck has to get me into spots where a stock 4x4 could go, but there's not enough clearance under mine.
thanks for the ideas, I'm looking into them now

The 2WD balljoint spacer would be good for the front on a budget.
If you're short on cash, I would get some Downey Leaf springs for the rear, and either the BJ spacer, or the downey arms for the front.

well I looked at the 4crawler site, like the BJ spacer and shackle combo.
either that or I found a shop near my parents house that quoted $850 installed for the fabtech 3.5" performance kit.
thanks for all the ideas guys, nice to get straight answers!
ps - that IvanDan looks badass, but I'm still in college and there's no way I can come up with 1500 to get it and get it installed. even the 850 is a stretch
