'04 Taco - Problem

I have had my new 04 Tacoma V6 4wd for a few weeks now and have tried some EASY off-road driving to test her out slowly. I got stuck yesterday while in L4 with my front two tires sitting in a rut and my back two on solid ground!!! I tried backing out and forward but the back passenger side tire just kept spinning and it didn't appear to me that the front tires were getting ANY power at all!!!
This just ain't right... I know I'm new to 4wd but come on!
I don't think the ADD is working... I don't think I have 4wd working at all! (not sure if there's a 4wd indicator light on the 04 Tac... but if there is mine ain't coming on)
I've tried like hell to make the front tires spin in loose gavel... but it won't.

AM I MISSING SOMETHING?

I think you should probably pay a visit to the dealer. I also have an 04 Taco 4wd and there is a 4wd indicator light that goes on while in 4wd. Just press the button on the small shifter and it usually goes on right away.

Well..this button (the one that says 4wd)

Then you should see this light under the fuel gauge telling you that 4wd is engaged.

Awesome!
Thanks for the pics Bruce!
I do see that you have a different 4wd shifter than I do... I think mine is the one called the lever shifter in the manual... don't know why there's two different types.
I knew there should be a light though... Thanks for the help buddy!

Well the verdict is in... I need a new actuator... whatever that is!
Oh, and a new Johnson rod!
Hopefully they'll have the part in on Wednesday.

Will this be covered by the warranty? That would suck if you had to pay for it!
