Question Tundra Rear End knock

I have a 01 Tundra TRD 4wd. When ever I stop at a light the rear end will knock and seat down a little like a old ford or dodge or chevy when you put it in reverse. The truck has 64,000 miles on it. I don't think it will hert but I was just woundering.

My 00 did that. Haven't seen it on the 03 yet. I think it's just something binding a little, if you can find it lube it up. I mentioned it to Toyota and they didn't know what it was, but didn't seem too concerned about it.

It "felt" like maybe the drive shaft was extending and contracting, and binding on the contraction. You might make sure it's lubed up all the way...

You'll see a grease zerk on the back end of your driveshaft just forward of the splined shaft. Pump grease until you see a little movement in the spline shaft - it's then properly lubricated and you shouldn't feel that "bump" anymore. If you haven't done this before it may take 15 to 25 or so (maybe more) pumps from your grease gun to lube that puppy, so don't worry about the amount of grease going in there, as it came from the factory with just enough grease to get you home from the "stealer's" lot.
