Tundra double cab - front bench seat question

I want to get the Tundra double cab 03-06 version but my wife really wants a truck that seats 6. Has anybody tried putting the newer split bench seat into an older double cab? Other ideas for removing the center console and having a seat? I don't mind doing some fab work but want it to be safe and look decent.

I actually just custumized my whole interior. I had the center console and needed 6 seats so I just modded it in, hope it could help!

Looks good. Any more details on what you used? Was it a DIY or did you have a shop do it? Seatbelts?

Thanks,

Jon

Yes it is a Dodge Ram seat that I found in a Junk yard. I cut the console out of the truck and welded new legs on the seat and matched the factory holes that mounted the Storage console (4ea). I then took the AC plug out of the console and ran to the back bottom side of the seat where I used some extra skirting from the console. The seat matches perfectly up against the rest of the center console behind the shifter, but you do have to trim the front of the seat in an angle which you'll see if you look at the lip right behind the small cup holder. It kind of makes a lopsided crescent moon shape. There is a seat belt and it's attached to the seat just like dodge did it. I was afraid of what it would look like and how my fiance would fit, but she has no problem at all with a leg on each side of the shifter and it doesn't get in my way at all and everyone who sees it thinks it looks perfect. I had the real custom leather done locally, I traded an old yota 4runner 2wd worth about 12-1500 straight across. Next is the seat heaters and massage! I'll attach a pic of the AC plug it's a bad pic though. I think you can see how well the front of the seat matches the center console in the other pics. Good luck if you try it and let me know if you need more info or pics of it..

I KNEW IT WAS POSSIBLE !! I’m been wanting to do this but I’ve had some reserves- how much welding did you have to do? I’m planning on going to junk yard after Christmas- I have a 04 tundra so no shifter in the middle- but I was debating a jump seat vs putting a while bench in that looks amazing !!!!!!!
