T100 rear axle seals

Hello everyone. I have a 97 T100 4x4 w/ 102K and have had to replace the rear axle seals on both sides within the past year. Now the passenger side is leaking again. The breather is open, so pressure is not the cause. Has anyone else had this problem?

I had a problem with the rearend of my T100 leaking on one side (passenger) after I replaced both the inner and outer seal it stopped leaking. Have you looked to see if your housing is bent? Since its leaking out of both sides it sounds like that could be it. Also look and see if your bearings have a lot of slop in them.

The bearings did have "slop" in them. I replaced both sides with new bearings. The new bearings have slop too. Not as much but still noticable. The arrangemnt seems pretty week to me. They are just ball bearings which are not meant to take large thrust loads, that can be present when cornering. The axle and housing apear to be straight but that is difficult to tell.

Yeah when I replaced my bearing the new one has some slop too, dont worry about it. An axle can in general take about one degree of misalignment before it starts to eat bearings and seals. I'd try and find a shop that can see if the housing is bent or you could do it yourself with some staightedges and trig functions.
