spacer?

Hey guys I just bought my 03' Tundra and I have a gibson exhaust and a short ram intake so far, I was just wondering what you guys would recommend for a little more power? do they make a throttle body spacer for these? And what else do you guys suggest for any kind of extra mod? any help is appreciated.

Thanks

those 4.7's are more restrictive on the intake side of things iirc...opening the exhaust more will net you less poer unit for unit as opening up the intake more...you seem to be looking at bolt ons, and I assume your not building a drag truck, so I really won't go into detail here, but the S/C is a pretty good deal, and also there is the headers, which if you go F/I you definitely want, and they are cheaper so a lot of people would say do that first, but its up to you, and another cheap way is to instead of trying to make more power, take off some of the things that are a parasitic drag on your motor. Run smaller accesorie pulleys, underdrives really do help out, and hey, you might even go so far as ( I wouldn't - on a DD) as saying, hey..I can live without A/C, so yank the belt. heck, might as well even yank the compressor and save wieght....

Check this out to see just how far you can go to shave about 2 seconds off of a 1/4 E.T.

thanks for the ideas, your right i'm not looking to make it a drag truck. I want to keep it my DD and I dont want to comprimise gas mileage to bad. I've heard of the underdrive pulley's before, but I didnt know if they acctually helped without doing more to the motor. As far as headers what brand do you guys prefer on These trucks? I was looking and the gibson's, I've enjoyed their catback so far so...

and as far as ripping out the ac...I live in AZ so I'm gonna probably hold on to that one

the only reason a S/C will hurt your gasmilage is if you mash the pedal everywhere you go.

When i put my S/C on i got better gas milage. The the fact, your using more power and less gas to push the truck, that is unless you race it around the city. Otherwise getting a S/C is by no means, making it a drag truck.

Headers would also be a good idea

And what part of AZ you in, Im in Surprise

All of my life sir, well, to be technical, i was born in Chicago, moved out here when i was only 11 months.

The first week of the S/C is not the best time to get on it tho. i waited 500 - 1000 miles before i actually flored it and held it. otherwise, thats when i seen my best gaines in my miles

Now its close to where i was stock. But last week i got 33's so my milages is going to drop. So far i only went though one tank. not completely full and i got like 15.8 mpg. This tank is already looking better just because I hit 100 miles before the needle dropped a hair below a quarter tank

right on, I've been here in the desert all my life as well, I love this place except for the 115+ heat during the summer...

Ya I forgot about the whole "break in" period, I think its overrated anyways...j/k but ya needless to say after that period I would be trying to race everyone for about a week, just because I could

15.8 isnt bad, I'm getting about 14.5-15 with mine, and thats with an intake and catback. I've only got 265/75's on mine now but thats close enough to a 32 so... works for me. I'm looking to do a 4-6" with 33-35's later on.

The 265/75's are the stock tire size for the runners, that would be 31's.

and you only get 15 mpg? wow, you must have a heavy foot

before i put the tires on i got about 16.5 - 17 mpg. but like i said i didnt fill up completly, i was in a hurry. i still had another gallon/ gallon and a half to put in.

mine is also a 5-speed so that may help aswell.

How many miles you got on yours?

ya i know the 265's are stock but they are actually closer to a 32" (I used to work at Discount Tire.....) and 15mpg isnt bad for a v8. Unless the 4.7's usually get better?

But, ya i usually fill up just a little under a 1/8 tank so i have just a little left.

oh and yes, my foot sometimes gets a little heavy...
