I was pretty impressed when I finally got to take our "new to us" 98 LX470 over some Oregon Passes. Our NA 98 was doing 80, uphill, and accelarating, at 4-5k ft, with 5 people onboard and the cargo area loaded to the ceiling. Didn't want to go any faster than that. Not that a Turbo or S/C wouldn't be nice...

There are 4BT in the 80 series, and I think a 6BT too, gotta be a way to put one in a 100

lol... it's covered up. i couldn't stand it more than a day. i put the temp tag back there until we get our permanent tag in the mail!

cheese: yeah, i'm just thinking out loud. so far, we're VERY impressed w/ the power, ride, quietness, and mileage. we're averaging around 17 or so, but we're easy on the skinny pedal as well. i'll check it for the next three or so tanks to get a good baseline for MPG's.

When you get a turbo you stop worrying about mileage.

Oddly it gets 16-17 in mixed driving with 33's on it.

The power and stuff on a stocker is good. The limiting factor with the turbo is purely the balls of the driver.
