Whoa, thats weird, I thought all the LC's were still SFA.

Lot of custom work done to that thing.

in the US, the solid axles ended with the 97 model year of the FZJ-80 and the LX450.

in 98, US spec cruisers (UZJ-100 ) and LX470's got the new body style, a V8, and IFS.

non-US-spec cruisers are available with either IFS -or- SOLID AXLE still today.

I've seen that truck cruising around Denver and parked at Home Depot this summer.

Except when I saw it he had 20"+ chrome wheels on it, lol.

It isn't surpising that many of the IFS LC folks are doing exactly the same stuff 3rd and 4th gen 4R owners are doing to outfit their rigs - suspension lifts with toppers, diff drop kits, brackets galore, etc....Christo Slee has an IFS 100 series with 37's, a Tuscon guy I wheel with has 35's on his 100.

We're not so different, really.

I love it's true off road capabilities and it's rugged looks but you still get the modern creature luxury comforts not found in too many aggressive off road vehicles.
