manual hub/ lift kit questions

ok got a couple of questions that i would like verification on before i start. ok i am getting ready to put manual hubs on my t-100 and want to make sure im thinking right. ok the manual hubs from a 86-95 truck or 4-runner will work. also would like to do away with the vacuum set-up on the axle and just couple the 2 halves of the axle together permanately. i have seen threads on the sight and looks pretty straight foward and simple. now by doing these 2 things i still have shift on the fly capability with the hubs locked in correct? plus when un-locked i get the benefits of not putting wear and tear on the front axle components and maybe a mile or 2 per gallon of gas?
also i would like to run 33 tires with minimum lift and $$.
would it be possible to squeeze in 33's with 1.5" b.j. spacers and 1.5-2" blocks in the rear?
