Maint Reqd Indicator
#1
Hello,
I have an '05 Sequoia and the Maintenance Required light came on recently. The Owners Manual says that an oil change is required, but does not explain how to reset the light.....I believe it comes on every 5K miles. My last vehicle (Acura) had a reset button below the steering wheel, but I can only find one for the Tire Pressure Monitors. I went ahead and changed the oil, but the light is still on.
Can someone explain how I can turn off the indicator without making a trip to the Dealer? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

1)get in the rig.2)turn on the key.3)make sure the mileage is showing on the odometer-not the trip mileage-.4)turn the key back off.5)push & hold the trip reset button in with your left hand.6)while holding button in turn key on with right hand, you will see the mileage count down to zero, when it reaches 0 you are done

Seriously? I wonder why they don't disclose this in the Owners Manual (unless I missed it). Guess it's a ploy to get owners into the dealer for service.
I'll give it a shot when I get home tonight. Thnx.

On the 2008 Tundra, make sure the mileage indicator is in the Trip A display. Turn key to off position, press mileage indicator button and hold (use left hand) with right hand turn key back on. Any miles listed in the display will change to dashes, and then will disappear one by one until the trip odometer is cleared. REQD MAINT light will go off.
