Just bought an 05 Sequoia, first impressions

Wife and I just took possession of a 2005 Limited Sequoia, 115,000 miles, loaded, leather.... just gorgeous.

So far a few things come up.
1) It's HUGE! I mean I went from a 1st gen 4runner to this thing (with a minor bout of Ford cancer thrown in there) and it's just a monster.
2) Surprisingly quick for a vehicle this size and a lot more nimble than I expected.
3) It's HUGE!

I've already looked at lift kits for it but that'll wait a while until I can get used to it like it is and learn what everything in it does. Oh and off road it at least once like it is.

Be back later with more questions I'm sure.

I'm another new owner of a "previously enjoyed" Sequoia, it's an '04. Had it maybe a month.
I gave my '07 Honda Accord up, took over the wifes '96 Runner (285k miles and going strong), and put her in the Sequoia.
I do love the truck. Big (compared to the Runner), comfy, quick, and I love how they look. Much more than the newer generation.
Don't like the traction control. It can't be turned off from what I've heard.

The wife is very apprehensive about the truck though. She loves her Runner.
And we've had nothing but bad luck with the Big Tree.
Luckily the dealership has helped us, but damn, those boys would rather climb a tree and tell a lie, than stand on the ground and tell the truth...
When they washed the truck and I was finalizing the deal, they blew my speakers.
Then, I take it home, the wife is playing with the buttons, opens the sunroof, and it won't close.
2 weeks in the shop, a new motor and cables later, and we're back in bidness.
Then, a couple nights ago, it's 7 degrees here, I go to open the lift gate, and break the handle.
I'll be fixing that myself.
When the latch broke, the Domestic Administrator said, "I am OVER this f@cking truck! I want my 4Runner back."
She's not kidding.
In the first 21 days we owned it, it was in the shop for 16 of them.

Please, please Lord... let this not be the sign of things to come.

We love our '05 Sequoia! Just hit 102,000 this last month and it probably had it's biggest test to date. We drove home in blowing snow, and deep snow and below zero temps from Colorado to Texas. It never faltered. I have towed a trailer full of furniture over a snow packed, steep mountain pass with absolutely slipping. I often flat tow my Jeep CJ-7 to Colorado in the summer time…I pass people going up La Veta pass towing the Jeep. It is one of the most comfortable cars I have ever traveled in, and it keeps our 4 kids safe and sound.

My only complaint is tire wear. I have tried all kinds of tires, and alignment shops. Finally found a great alignment shop and put Michelin LTX tires on it and the problem has been much better. I also wish it had tundra brakes on it as it does burn through brakes, but my wife drives it like a Porsche. My 3rd generation 4Runner didn't need brakes until it hit 100K miles. Enjoy!!
