2004 oem switch????????
Ok guys, i finally found and installed a pair of oem foglights! These are the new roundish lens instead of the rectangular ones in previous years. (200-2003 ??) The lamps are installed and connected to the harness but i have a problem with adding the switch and a relay (if needed). I openned the panel under the steering wheel and to the left there are three different female jacks. im not sure which one is for the foglights! I called the dealer and they said that theres a specific switch that mounts onto the stick where u turn your lights on and off. But it costs $140!!! plus he said i needed a relay which costs $60!! Well i was thinking of buying a switch and a relay from radio shack and splicing the wires for the oem switch. ANYONE HAS ANY INFO ???? please reply THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!!!!!!!!

Uh, stop being stupid? Grab a voltmeter and actually test what is doing what. Or complete the circuit. You aren't going to kill yourself with 12v. Maybe if you light the battery on fire...
If using a paper clip to connect the contacts doesn't work, I'd suggest making your own relay.

It's not voltage that kills you its amperage. A little as 300 milliamps can stop your heart. Why aren't you dead yet? Because the skin provide from 1000 to 1000000 ohms of resistance. So, 12 vdc can kill given enough amperage. And those auto batteries can kill.

Just wire that thing into one, make it temporary. Switch it on. If nothing happens, then it's not the right socket.
I just get irritated when people see a problem, go :wtf:, then ask about it on a forum. Can't you try something first?
Turn car off, remove key. If you want to be safe, unplug negative terminal from battery and tap the brakes a few times. Pop a paper clip in to complete the circuit. Reconnect Negative terminal.
Personally, if I put fogs in the T100, I'd get a Toyota switch for 'em. I'd like it to match the rest of the truck dash, but if you want to use a Radio shack switch, that would work as well.

Still though, Chi, it's better to be safe than sorry around circuits and the like, especially if you aren't sure of things. I'd rather help someone otu than tell them to piss off until they fry themselves.
That's what the forum is for -- so we can help each other out.

I dunno. I'm used to working with 12v circuits that are like 0.00002 amps anyway.
Are the wires, by any chance, color coded? Might be able to find a color code to figure out which one goes to which one on the dash.
Also, go down and buy a new bulb for your dome light. While there, ask the dood if he can give you some extra help with the fog lights. :p
No more posting at 4 am for me.
