Of course, mines a Tundra but I'm fairly certain the diff is similar, if not the exact same.

The drain is low on the drivers side

The fill is high on the drivers side, next to the large bracket and tucked up behind the skidplate far enough I have to remove said plate to refill the darned thing.

Oh yeah, a little word of advice...remove the fill plug first; then remove the drain plug. Just in case the fill plug is frozen, stripped or otherwise can't be removed. Saves you from running around in someone elses ride while yours sits in the drive with no diff fluid in it!

Why the hell would they use Allen heads instead of just hex bolts?!

as long as it's cleaner out and you can fully fit the proper size hex key in there it works fine, they are a lower profile (which doesn't matter in this location) and they allow a bigger hole I think.

10mm allen fits, soak hole in pen oil prior, then wiggle it in, make sure it seats at the bottom.

I prefer the allen head plugs over the hex bolts myself. After you've dragged your diff on a few rocks it becomes difficult to remove the drain plug. Dragging my drain plug on a rock also managed to loosen the drain plug on two occasions. I have yet to have either of these problems with my low profile allen head plugs. YMMV
