I bought a 89 Land cruiser today from a guy that didn't know how to put jumper cables on and now I don't have dash light, clock, AC, parking lights, and brake lights The cruiser has 140K and runs like a dream I only gave 1K for it and its in great cosmetic condition. The only problem is I think when he jumped it backwards it fried either the battery or alternator. Please someone chime in with some help on how to trouble shoot the problem

You could take the alternator in and have it checked. Look over all the fuses.

Agree on the fuses- check your manual for what circuit has all those in common, you likely popped a fuse (or two)...
