FJ80 tranny differences?

I got a set of factory shop manuals for my FJ80 (mfgr'd 2-92) and it came with a A440F transmission manual. When I went to get my filter kit the counter guy said was it an A440F, A440L, or a A442F? What is the difference between them so I get the right one? Did I get the wrong shop manual for my year?

Great site just signed in and will be here a lot!

Thanx, in advance, for any help!

A440F should be behind the 3F-E. A440L has a lock-up torque converter. A442F is behind the 1FZ-FE

Glad I could help. I just looked in my Chilton's then confirmed it with Wikipedia and some random Google search . I actually had just read it earlier today because I was looking for info about the A340F.

Fairbanks is HOT and sunny. Its cloudy today but Im sure it'll be clear as could be tomorrow...and I work outside. I got really tan from work ....
