FJ 55 info/help?

So basically since I sold my last runner I've been in the mood to snag a new Toyota project or even DD but not much has been for sale in my area recently a FJ55 has surfaced for 600$ OBO. The top has been chopped but it runs has two good sets of tires, not much rust to be seen and a clean title was wondering if this would be a good project. Only bad thing is it doesn't stop that easy?
Not trying to spend a ton of money if something where to break but at this point planning on just a roll cage if I do go after this project
Thanks or any info and help.

Sounds like a project for sure, I have an 80 so not very familiar with the 55's. I would go to ih8mud.com way more info on cruisers. Does it still have the 2f?

I saw this one on craigslist a few weeks ago. More original than the chop job you're looking at.... rustier though.
