Boy, did I luck out!

While crawling around under my 97 LX 450 to do an oil change I
noticed the driver side knuckle leaking what looked like gear lube.
I then checked the oil level in the front diff to see if much leaked
out. The level was fine but the oil was very black indicating grease
leaking past the seals. For the hell of it I looked in the warrantee
book to see if it was covered and sure enough it was covered for 6
years, 70,000 miles! The dealer took one look and said "Yep, you
need the front diff redone" He handed me the keys to the RX 300
loaner and took care of it no charge! He said that it was a $1300-
$1400 job if I didn't bring the truck in under 70K miles. I planned
to do the job myself this fall but now I don't have to! Next job is
extending the diff vents.

Cool, sounds like they are taking good care of you.
The extened diffs are easy to do.

diff. breathers

I extened the tubes on my 85 last week and they turned out nice. I ran back one behind tail light and front one up to fire wall.
Will have to find some water to try them out.

Hi Bill,
What did you use as a vent on the end of the hose? Gas filter?

Vent

I used 1/8 in line to vent and a filter from a gas engine That is inside the fuel tank on the fuel pick up side works great for this.
Any small engin repair shop has them, they are only about 1 to 2 dollars each.
