Traxxas Stampede 4x4 VXL RC/ Losi mini crawler

I have an older thread here from 2008 about a few RC toys I bought.
I gave the helo to my younger son, as I crashed it too much
I still have the 4x4 racer, but it is showing its age.

Have been looking at this new one, and I think I am going to get it soon.
Stock out of the box is 40 MPH, and 60 MPH with the optional battery, but I think the stock one is fine.
A few reviewers say the bigger battery makes the rig almost to uncontrollable.

This would be fun to bring to work too and run it during lunch.
It comes with a wheelie bar, and you need it as seen in the video below.

There is a video on the Traxxas site too, but I do not have time to look for it now, gotta hit up my next job site.

I do like traxxas since a couple of my buddies run them, the brushless seem to do real good. I went with the Team Assc. MGT 8.0 nitro truck and I love it!

Hey Corey...

Great looking truck. I run an RC 10 buggy, always wanted a truck.

For the battery, the 11.1v Li-Po is a monster. Dont buy it from Amazon though. If you dont mind waiting buy one from EHobby.

Just make sure you buy a quality charger. You will want to spend a couple extra $$$ for the charger. This is what i use.

Make sure the charger can balance the cells and can also charge NiCd, NiMh along with the LiPo.
Do a little reading on the LiPo batteries. They can be a bit tricky. If the battery is damaged it can be a bit dangerous.

Thanks guy's.
Todd, I will more than likely just run the stock battery but get a better charger if I get this truck.
I still have my eye on this crawler though.

Totally opposites, one goes fast, one goes slow, but the latter is about 1/2 the cost too.

The more I think about it, I think I am going to go with the Losi 1/18 mini rock crawler.
Lots of YouTube vids, here is one of the better ones done by a hobby shop that sells them.

Traxxas Stampede 4x4 Battery? My kid gets about a half hour with his Stampede 4x4 with these batteries, they have great punch and always take 5000+ mah charge. You will not be disappointed with Gens Ace batteries. Hope they stay in stock.
