2wd/suspension to 4wd frame swap

ok guys, I have a question. I am picking up an 87 2wd pickup on Saturday that I got a great deal on, but it had frame rot. I have a 4wd IFS parts truck with a good frame. after searching for hours on the net with no luck, I'm asking you guys here. I want to swap in the 4wd FRAME but keep the truck 2WD. Other than the front clip (radiator support) having different body mounts, what are the other differences in the frame? mainly the suspension between the 2wd/4wd ifs. How much fabbing will need to be done to accomplish this?

Cliff Notes::

2wd Truck --> Swap in 4WD Frame --> Stay 2WD --> Is it possible without a buttload of fab work??

Thanks guys for any info you can give.

If I'm following what you are asking correctly, it wont be worth the effort. The frames and suspensions between a 2wd and 4x4 truck are totally different. Every suspension mounting point, suspension component, and even the frame dimensions are different. To try and make the 4x4 frame accept the 2wd suspension parts would be a royal P.I.T.A.
To make a 4x4 into a 2wd, you would be much better off finding a 2wd 2nd gen 4runner thats being parted and using the hubs and spindles and then remove the CVs and front diff. No fab work needed.

Thanks for the help, I am going a different route. I cut the rear half of my 4wd frame off and will be grafting it onto the rear of my 2wd truck. little more work but nothing I can't handle.
