2WD lift using 4x4 IFS?

I have searched and searched but have not found any answer to this.

I want to get a little lift on my 86 2WD Pickup. I dont care to swap it to 4wd. and i dont want to make it ride harder with cranking the torsion bars and adding a leaf.

I was wondering it by flipping the rear axle from on top of the spring pack to under it and swaping out the front IFS with IFS from a donor 4x4 IFS of the same year would have it sitting the same as a stock 4x4. of course with new wheels and tires. Is this even possible or are the two IFS systems not interchangeable?

Thanks

Easiest would be 2WD ball joint spacers and an aal or block.

What wabbit said.

The IFS is different between 2wd trucks and 4wd so the parts are not interchangable.

Top mounting the springs on the rear axle would get you around 3" lift in the rear, so you'd need that up front to balance the look. BJ spacers won't get you quite close enough to that to work right.

You can keep your eyes out for Fabtech or Downey 2wd lifts- those can net around 3-3.5" up front. Total Chaos also sells kits for the 2wd. Then there's Obsessed Motorsports who markets lift spindles for them.
