toyotafiberglass - Davids 4Runner

well he's back ..

a while back , we did some front fenders for him .. and he loved them . We we're talking about My Trekker and the power of his 22re in his Truck ..

so .. 5VZ is now going in ..
Truck is not actually comming in for a couple of weeks , but I wanted to get going on the mods to the engine .

found a good used "kit" with 120 Kelometers on it

started with the clutch ..
NEW complete kit

OLD

and NEW

also .. did the timing belt , water pump , tensioner and Idlers

EDIT : we have the timing belt kits and clutches now IN stock

.

so continued with the "prep" with Davids parts ..

because the 5VZ requires extra height , we "opt" for a hood scoop instead of a body lift . This is a http://www.toyotafiberglass.com exclusive part , and as well fits the 5vz supercharged "cut out " necessary to fit .

here's how we install it ..

First the scoop has the studs imbedded , so a template is necessary .. a sheet of "art" paper from your local office supply store will sufice ..

Be sure to mark it .. so you know which end is up

now with your "template" .. you can measure , and mark your install

there are a few different positions you can set this at , so .. this one is where we want it .. With that in mind .. time to drill
Take your time on this .. the metal hood skin is thin , and will dent really easily .

depending on your location .. you will have to "open" up holes on the structural braces undernieth ..

and to open it up for a "functual vent" .. we suggest cutting between the supports .. will show this on a latter post .

install , and tighten bolts ..
