Toyota Fiberglass: grandpa's restoration

this one has been at my shop for a while ..
I have being trying to find the time to build the moulds ... and now it's finally "in the works"

short story is ..

Coreys grampa passed away , and left him his 2wd 3/4 ton . Corey wanted us to restore it back to NEW .. in memory of his Grandpa

so we finally got it in the shop and started to pull it apart , and get some moulds made of these paticular LONG bed sides

got the box off ..

and kicked it back outside to build the moulds

box moulds in the works

rest of the truck is ok .. frame wise .. We're going to do some POR15 on the frame for longevety also .. replacing the hood , fenders and doors ..

it's a fairly low miler , and the 3.0L runs like a champ .. so just some detailing there .. after all is said .. some FRESH paint , and i hope corey will be happy .. maybe a tear or 2 ..

this is awesome... idk why, but it brings joy to my heart when i see things like this...
also the fact that he wants it to go back to STOCK versus modified is the coolest in my opinion...

good luck and keep us posted!

Did t100's use the same bed sides as the smaller pickups, just scaled up a bit?

pulled the front end off

what a mess , here is also why fenders and rockers rust ..

also pulled the plugs on the frame .. wow .. FULL of debris ,
so now I have to clean it all out . Started with compressed air and a "tool" I made to reach in the frame and loosen the dirt .

FIRST wash

windshield rust repair in progress

Prepped and taped

and some epoxy on the outers , and color on the inners

and assembly begins

we're not doing "color" on the exterior , because Corey has decided to have it "wrapped"
