Installing Lockers Puyallup

Hello everybody. Just recently bought another Toyota. I'm looking to install some lockers front and rear. Was thinking about possibly doing the Spartan Automatic. It will be my daily driver, but I want it to get me where I need to go while hunting/camping. So my question is, is there anybody in the Puyallup area that would be willing to help/teach me how to install? I can pay you for your time. Thanks in advance.

The rear is pretty easy. And the front is just like the rear other than their is more work to do tearing it apart and putting it all back together.

I've installed loc-rite's before and the sparten locker looks very similar in design.

If i remember right you have to pull the diff carrier out of the case so you can remove the center pin that holds the spider gears in. Once the spiders and side gears are removed you now can install your locker.

The directions vary from brand to brand. But with the lock right you did not have to clearence the diff carrier to install the peices of the puzzle. ,

Any how im in vancouver wa. Would love to do it for you but im in the process of buying a hse and bills are tight. If you feel like tackling the job your self and have time to let your rig sit and not be your only means of transportation ill help walk you through what needs to be done and find links from those who have done it and wrote about the install.

Awesome. Thanks for all the info. This is just a job that intimidates me, because I have never broken into a differential before. Most I've ever done is change fluid. I'm not really set on just the spartans either. I'm open to others also. It's just a matter of finding the time and help now. I have other vehicles so I don't mind letting it sit a couple weekends.

well if you want to tackle the process of installing them I'll walk you through installing them and giving you proper spec's from the factory repair manual through the forum.

other wise I'd suggest calling auto shops and specialty 4x4 shops and getting quotes for install, and confirming they will install customer supplied parts.

If you have aftermarket gears or upgraded to a taller ratio you can't simply pull the crosspin.

Ya, as far as I know they are factory gears. I've found a few write ups about how to do it, so I may just give it a shot. thanks
