98 4Runner Transfer Case Install CA

About a yr ago the housing in between the trannsmission and transer case split in half and ruined the shaft to my transfer case. I got a used transfer case. My dad and I installed it but it was very difficult. Once installed the transfer case would not go into 2wd. So i was driving it in 4hi with the front drive shaft off.

A couple weeks ago I decided to crack it open and see why it wouldnt shift to 2wd. Once i opened it up it went into 2wd, I noticed that the forks looked like a peice was broken of the end. I put it all back together and it stayed in 2wd. So now i am in the market for a new transfer case.

If anyone could help me out on installing the Transfer Case for a 1998 4runner SR5 automatic it would be greatly appreciated.

If someone know where i could find a decent transfer case for not to much money out in CA that would be awesome.

Thanks for all the help in advance1

Car-part.com is probably the best site for finding stuff like this near you. Do a quick search, and I'm sure you'll find some near you.
