We'll after having a new fuel pump for over a week now I decided to install it. I tell you what. It's a real pain on these T100's. You can't just remove the bed to install a fuel pump. The fuel tank sets up under the extended part of my cab so the fuel tank must be dropped to access the fuel pump. This is not easy when your tank is completely full of gas. Anyhow I secured the tank with a floor jack then undid the two bolts that secure the fuel tank straps. Then lowered it down. Removing the fuel pump and installing the new one was easy. However reinstalling the tank was hard. I just couldn't balance it on my jack so I man handled it. Was installed my truck started right up as normal. I let it set and idle until temperature reach normal then I revved the engine a time or two and proceeded to test drive. I immediately felt a difference. Throttle response was instantly and the power difference was insane. So I drove it down the road until I hit the freeway. Once on the freeway I was changing gears like a mad man. The RPM's were jumping up so quick. I hit 100MPH in 4th before I realized how fast I was going. I have know hesitations and the truck starts every time without any problems now.
Upon inspection of the old fuel pump I could tell that it had recently been replaced however it was a AirTex or Air Junk in my words. I installed a factory Denso like what should had been in it. The old sock was just a little filthy but not like I had expected for a 20 year old vehicle. The tank was surprisingly clean considering we're this truck has spent its life. I did notice that the fuel pump mounting bracket was a little rusty and the main fuel line was in rough shape. So that will be on my agenda to replace come spring time. It's not leaking now so it's not getting replaced anytime soon. That thing is expensive, or it is for my old 93 mini truck.
Sorry know pics as I been trying to deer hunt as much as possible due to his being my only week off from work. I'm still legal to hunt 1 buck and 3 doe so I'm hoping to knock those numbers down tomorrow so all my tags will be filled.
Stay tuned as I may take some pictures as I am hunting tomorrow as well as some of my truck on the terrain that I travel to get back in the hills to we're I hunt.
