Drive without brake booster

I have an electrical short somewhere,( I think in the brake booster) Can I disconnect if (and if so how?) so I can get it to the repair shop? All the warning lights on the dash come on and when I got into my driveay it would not start. I'm trying to avoid a tow. Thoughts?

Thanks, The booster was whining (like a transmission whine sound) and then the short turned on all the warning lights on and turned off the radio. My reasoning was to disconnect and thus stop the short from draining the battery so I could drive it and get to the shop. (battery was dead when I stopped last time so my reasoning is the short was draining the battery.) Poor explanations show I;m at the bottom of the learning curve.

Perhaps it was the alternator that was 'whining'.
