On 3rd Brake booster...

Does anybody have any idea why my sons 86 Toyota IFS is going thru brake boosters like cord wood in the winter ? The last 2 we put on were the upgraded dual diaphragm boosters. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I am curious about this too.My son just purchased a 1988. It needs a booster. I was looking through the receipts from the preevious owner and he put a booster on a couple years ago. Is this common item to fail? I was a mechanic years ago and rarely, if ever, had to replace a booster...

I just got an 89 and I'm trying to diagnose brake booster or master cylinder. What symptoms are you having with bad boosters? After reading this I wouldn't be surprised if it is the booster

Lots of brake boosters and no one put in a new pushrod?

Seriously?

Are all these Brake boosters being replaced new ??

Hard choice to make 20 plus year old out of a yard or something built in China most likely .

I could see a high failure rate with both.

Knock on wood I have never had one fail.
