YotatoySoarer95's 2002 Tacoma Build-Up Thread
The name is Justin and I recently purchased a 2002 Tacoma SR5. It is a five lug five speed and I did some research and lifted it a bit and made it a bit more offroad worthy. My main reason for buying the truck was for a DD but I also use it as a parts runner and for hunting ,camping, and messing around. So far I have just installed a Fabtech 3" front spindle lift with 1.5" strut spacer and 2" rear shackle lift with black 15x8" 0mm offset Pacer Soft 8's and 30x9.50" BFG KOs and other small things here and there that you will notice in the pictures.
The day I bought it
after the mods
Decided to black out the truck a lil bit and sold my old camper shell to purchase this one....yes it will be painted white to match the truck. I will also be building a grid type bed storage/box spring setup so I can put in a mattress and have storage.....I will post pictures of the progress once I start building it. How it currently sits.
Did the running/turn signal DIY upgrade. This is how the lights look at night.
Thoughts.

I just got a 2001 and I like that first bumper you have posted. quick question are you planning on using those bead locks any time soon if not I may have a use for them
I thought about making a bed drawer with a sleeping shelf above it but am still unsure if I will go that route or not.
keep up the posts and build
enjoi.

Its a 2WD so I wont be going rock bashing anytime soon. They are just some Mickey Thompson Classic Lock rings that I had welded in to give the wheels some more toughness.
As far as the bed slide system, you are looking at a pretty penny, what I plan on doing is plywood in a grid shape for the bottom with 2x4s running along top to mount the top doors and act as a box spring, then in each cubby hole have Tupperware containers as storage then all the ply wood will get covered in outdoor carpet. Sounds a bit more complicated then it will actually be to make it.

If a member on CustomTacos will ever get back up with me I would have LT as long as it takes to ship and install....but if I have to buy new it might be a while. The All-Pro front bumper is on a Greyhound bus somewhere in between NC and Nevada, kinda ready for that to get here so I can cuss at that for a bit, I here they don't fit quite right at first......

that looks 10x better with that bumper!
I dont know why but i really like this truck. if i were you i would make every little thing on it super nice and not put a single sticker on it just my two cents. i also wouldnt make it as high as a 4wd but if possible to have really good travel or crazy long travel up front and less lift in the rear. im just thinking out loud here..

Might be too late for the stickers, I have six stickers on the back glass of the camper shell........lol
I plan to go LT on it with a Deaver six pack leaf set up in the rear, but this will not happen for quite some time being I am poor......haha. I like doing things to this truck and I like to buy nice things for it so I wont be installing crap parts.

a couple stickers doesnt really matter. i was talking more of a sticker for every mod on your truck which i think is kind of silly. i like clean vehicles personally
same here about the poor situation. waiting for lift on mine but not going to happen for quite some time. so i just do cheaper mods that i would have done anyway.
