Went to plug in the manual trans ECU, no dice, the manual trans ECU has completely different plugs than the auto trans ECU. Oh well, guess I'll just have to live with a CEL, either that or swap wiring harnesses (kicking myself now for not grabbing the harness out of the 96' parts 4Runner).

yeah, but it makes my engine swap that much easier

That's one of the reasons why I didn't pull it, didn't wanna screw you over.

haha, thanks bud

on either of the transmissions/engines, was there a cover plate for the bottom of the bellhousing? just curious, as i'm noticing a lot of 3vz and 5vz engines/trans don't have them, but they're referenced in parts diagrams.

also, i saw you took the whole brake/clutch pedal bracket. was there a stop switch attached to it?

On BOTH the auto and manual there was a plate that covered the bottom of the bellhousing, it bolted directly on the bellhousing.

On the post-1995 stuff, the clutch pedal bracket and brake pedal bracket are separate. The clutch pedal bracket has a clutch depress switch and a clutch release switch. The brake pedal bracket has a stop switch which illuminates the brake lights once you push in the pedal.
