Nice score on the bumper and glad ya got it started. As far as the hardware I think it may just be the bumper bolts, I work on my runner all the time w/o incident but this weekend I took my front bumper off to modify it for the 1.5" BL I installed the prior weekend and was snapping bolts off! Especially those dang wheel well bolts, anyway, rant off...keep up the good work

Yeah, im worried, the rear end looks very crusty in this thing. Im getting worried how long this vehicle will actually last me due to the thin metal on it. My truck is a 94 and the body is rotted right out but the frame is still looks nice. I like it and really want to keep it but if its going to give me major problems id rather just sell it for what I got into it. I love it but I need stuff that lasts the longest against salt, we get it so bad here, depressing….. I love snow, but hate salt…..

Im guessing you mean the lockable rear diff? I read a little about it and know its more on the rare side. If so, i dont think it does. There is no switch to the left of the steering column besides the dimmer. I wish it did... The deer was a buck, so it was big, real big, they showed me pics.

Also to put this out there i am looking for at least 2 more Tacoma/Tundra/Sequoia Rims that match my two front rims so i can have a full set instead of two pairs. I am not a fan of the 3 spokers. I have a set of 265 wrangler T/D's off my Silverado that would be nice trail tires. I responded to two ads on craigslist, but they were old....

So got it fired up and drives well. The radio and interior lights now work. But the power antenna doesn’t go up. I think I am going to look into the Tacoma whip mod to make it nice and simple, I don’t go through car washes anyway. The clock also does not work. It does have a brake line leak, the front of the brake reservoir was empty and started leaking as I drove it. Its right under the drivers side rear door. Fixed the battery drain also.

Ok,
Next step. Got the passenger side fender off. Snapped all the bolts that hold it on down low, so now it’s a sloppy fit. This bolt snapping thing is getting old real fast…. And of course I cant get a drill in there because of the factory running boards. The door still hits the fender with it popped out, so I am going to have to adjust it a little so you can open the door and it doesn’t come back to bite you.

Got a bit further on the 4runner last weekend. Started a new high idle thread in the tech section after cleaning the throttle body out. The throttle had some carbon and sludge buildup that must have hardened over the 6 years of sitting. Ran into an issue in removing the IAC, that’s so dumb that they used Phillips screws, nice and easy to round off. I got two out with an impact and stripped the others. Luckily got them out with vise grip needle nose pliers. I am going to the hardware store today to get some hex head cap screws to replace the Phillips. The IAC was a little gunked up too inside. So I will also get some more brake kleen today so I can clean that part out. I will put it back together and try it again tonight. I bought the gasket at a local advance auto for 2 bucks. Hopefully its good and just needs a cleaning. I also replaced the CTS, but that didn’t help. Also got the front radiator core support on, the drivers side fender is a little bent so it doesn’t quite line up, for now it will have to work. So, I am down to needing: fan shroud, parking lights, turn signal lights, bumper, brake line, tires mounted and balanced and the idle issue figured out. OH, and most importantly a title still……… Pictures to come later, forgot my camera at home today....

Got the high idle fixed! Needed a good IAC cleaning. Now i need to fix the brake line, get a bumper, and figure out a rim choice. Forgot the camera once again.... Bought a lh [parking light on the bay for 5.00 bucks last night plus 5.50 s&h. IM going to make the rh light work with a broken pin for now.

Got looking into spacers so i can fit the tacoma rims and 265-75-R16's. I think im going with wabfabs 1''. I dont like the washer spacer method, it scares me, but i wonder if 1'' is too much? Does anyone have pics on a stock runner? If it looks good and doesnt stick out to far i would be so happy. Thanks!

1" spacers would be huge dude - I would try bolting them up first and see how much space you will actually need.

Yeah, i was worried about that. I need to find the backspacing out on the stock runner rims and tacoma rims.. Even the runner rims with 265-75R16's have to be close to the a-arm...
