Hydrabyte' s 1996 4runner Build-Up Thread

Project 4runner has begun in North FL.
More importantly, THANKS to ALL of YOU for helping me get started.
1996 4runner, sat for 2.5 years in neighbors driveway, oil pump failure. Brought it back to life (referring to many tips here) and confirmed the motor was doa. Located a used 1998 3.4, a shop dropped it in and viola, now a running project.
Still fighting the dreaded P0773 but thanks to many people here I have a place to start troubleshooting. Very little mechanical experience but am learning.
Will add some pics later this week.

First day Pic, what a mess

Not a big phone guy, shrunk Pic
Found the DOA Solenoid (P0773) CEL, replacing this weekend

1996, 2WD
Removed oem running boards
Installed 99 Tall Coils, front and rear,
KYB Gas a Shock (4)
Beck Arnley Lower Ball Joints
Finally, new 31x10.50x15, could of went to 32" but opted out.
Measurements before, ground to fender = 33" all 4 corners
Now at ~36" with tall coils, much better ride and handling!
Except for the front struts, did everything else myself, 1 long day. A lot of improvising, over-coming and adapting.
Lifted Pic, stock 225,75r.15's

Lifted with 31x10.5x15, not a daily driver so I went with Mesa Tires, buy 3 get one free deal .....

P0773 resolved

Replaced all 3 instead of just the failed solenoid, CEL is gone, finally.
Replaced all 3 belts with new & removed running boards.
Next up, Bilsteins 5100's at 1.25" and some new rubber.

Idle issue fixed
After cleaning throttle body, idle averaged 900+ and 1500+ in Park or Neutral.
Removed and Cleaned IAC but also needed to remove the 2 screws on the solenoid / magnet contraption, once removed ensure it can rotate freely and viola, idles normal...
Replaced gasket, Autozone = $1.49, ~2 hours of my time & carb cleaner, overall very cheap fix.
